SHINE / FINUCANE / MAHONEY

I am seeking information about the SHINE family who migrated to Ballarat from the Irish townland of Srahane in County Limerick, Ireland. David SHINE along with children John, Michael, Joseph, Ellen and Mary arrived in Melbourne on 7th April, 1858 aboard the Marco Polo. Remaining sons Patrick and William also migrated to Ballarat at some point. Mary SHINE married Martin FINUCANE (1859) - 7 children Ellen SHINE married Andrew MAHONEY (1865) Sons Patrick, William, Michael, Joseph and Patrick SHINE did not marry. John SHINE may have married Ann(e) Butler and lived in the Bacchus Marsh area. The following family members are buried at the Old Ballarat Cemetery

David SHINE (occupation farmer) bur. 14/4/1879

Patrick SHINE (occupation police officer) bur. 9/6/1885

Joseph SHINE (occupation miner) bur. 30/4/1901

Michael SHINE (occupation butcher) bur. 14/10/1878

Mary FINUCANE (nee SHINE) bur 16/6/1904

Ellen MAHONEY (nee SHINE) bur 18/6/1903

Until at least 1839 David Shine (and wife Catherine Lysaght) were living in Srahane, co  Limerick and had a number of adult sons who possibly held land at the time of the Griffith’s Valuation.

I am interested in a branch of the Shine family who emigrated from Glin [near Shanagolden] West Limerick, to USA. I have some evidence they were living in Chicago up until c.1900-15. My branch emigrated to Australia but I know they had cousins in Glin, West Limerick.
